CT CALCIUM SCORE

A CT (computed tomography) Calcium Score scan is a medical imaging test that measures the amount of calcified plaque in the coronary arteries of the heart. The coronary arteries supply blood to the heart muscle, and the presence of calcified plaque can indicate the presence of coronary artery disease (CAD).

During the CT Calcium Score scan, a special type of CT scanner is used to take detailed pictures of the coronary arteries. The images are then analyzed to determine the amount of calcified plaque present. The results are typically expressed as a numerical score, known as the Agatston score, which reflects the severity of calcium deposits in the coronary arteries
